MeeMa’s Kitchen will be open, beginning September 3rd, Wednesday nights 5:00-6:15 in the Fireside Room. Adults $4, Kids (through 5th grade) $2, Maximum cost per family $15, Salad Bar $3, Chicken Nuggets or Hot Dog $1. Make your reservation on the Worship Response Form the Sunday before you plan to attend.

For Adults:

Prayer & Pastor’s Study: Join the pastor in the Fireside Room where you’ll pray over the needs of the church and dig into God’s Word with other Northsiders on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. Coming in October—Forty Days of Love.

Worship & Arts Practices: Get ready for a new season of praise and worship music. Our instrumentalists and praise teams will meet for practice in the auditorium at 6:30 on Wednesday evenings. Choir practice will be 7:30 to 8:30 PM.

GPS (God’s Plan for Sharing): consists of four areas of focus—praying, engaging, sowing and harvesting:

• Praying for people who don’t have a personal relationship with Christ.
• Engaging in witness training and beginning new efforts to reach out to those who do not know Christ.
• Sowing: intentionally sharing the plan of salvation with the people around us.
• Harvesting: celebrating God’s activity in the lives of those around us as He brings them to salvation.

This group will meet briefly at 5:45 on Wednesday evenings and then go out in groups to visit homes in our neighborhood. Everyone will return to the church to share results.

Financial Peace University: FPU is the most important step to changing your financial future. It is a 13-week, life-changing program that empowers and teaches you how to make the right money decisions to achieve your financial goals and experience a total money makeover. It's for EVERYONE from the financially secure to the financially distressed. Chris Pole will lead this class in room ED102 beginning Wednesday, September 3. Cost is $90.

For Men:

Men, are you looking for ways in which you can get plugged in and learn from other men in your walk with Christ? If so we are calling you to join with us in a ministry specifically designed with you in mind. Starting September 3rd we will begin Men's Fraternity, designed to help us as men understand our masculine identity and show us how to make the pursuit of authentic manhood a lifelong priority as modeled by Jesus Christ. This class is open to men of all ages desiring to grow in unity with other men. The class meets Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in room ED113. There is no cost for this class.

For Women:

Ladies Bible Studies: Our Women’s Ministry has provided two options for in-depth Bible study this Fall...

Precept Upon Precept Bible studies are designed to teach you to know truth for yourself. Using the inductive study method will teach you how to interact with God’s Word on your own. In this study of 2 Timothy, we will see Paul sharing his heart with Timothy, his son in the faith. Our study will include principles of discipleship, marks of apostasy, and God’s proof that His Word is inspired. Classes begin on either Wednesday evening, Sept. 3 at 6:00 or Friday morning, Sept. 5 at 9:30. Denise Sherman will be leading this 14-week study in room ED116. Cost of the workbook is $23. Beth Moore’s study, Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent, is an in-depth look at 15 Psalms. Journey through Psalms 120-134 in this 7-session, DVD-driven study. Themes such as unity, joy and gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule, and more are explored in detail. Classes begin Wednesday evenings, September 24th at 6:00 in ED112 or Friday mornings, September 19th at 9:30 in the Fireside Room.

For Parents

Conscious Discipline teaches parents seven basic skills of discipline:

• Anger Management
• Helpfulness
• Assertiveness
• Impulse Control
• Cooperation
• Empathy
• Problem Solving

This class will be in room ED206 beginning Wednesday, September 3rd. It is an 8-week course and cost for the workbook is $20.

For Students 6-12:

Wednesday Night Thing: Students in 6th-12th grade gather with the student band, F.o.G (Friends of God) for a time of worship. Then our Associate Pastor of Students and Ministry, Tony Manning, brings a Biblical message that is relevant and timely. The group meets in the CLC Assembly Room.

For Grades 1-5

In the Beginning... Jesus: The Bible is one complete true story that progressively reveals God's redemptive plan, which comes to complete fulfillment in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. In the Beginning...Jesus begins with a historical mystery—Jesus' death on the cross—and asks the questions: "What really happened here?" "Why did Jesus die?" and "Who did it?" To find the answers to these questions, the study goes to the beginning of the Bible narrative in Genesis and then moves chronologically through the Old Testament text as students search for clues that foreshadow the coming of Jesus and His redemptive work on the cross. Special emphasis is given to showing that the Bible is God's story from beginning to end and that Jesus is the key to understanding the story. This group meets in the Fellowship Hall beginning Wednesday evening, September 10, 6:30 to 7:45.

For Preschoolers:

TeamKID: (Age 3 through Kindergarten) TeamKID is a fast-action, high-energy ministry where children learn about God and Jesus, apply the Bible to their lives, hear missionary stories, and play fun recreational games. TeamKID meetings will be on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45 PM beginning September 10th. Your Coaches and Captains are ready and waiting, so come join the TEAM in ED211.
